How to Use Smart Tags with InteractSMS

Step 1: Using Smart Tags with a Saved List

If you have a pre-existing customer list saved in InteractSMS, using Smart Tags is incredibly simple. Here's how:

  1. Start a New Campaign:

    • Go to the campaign setup and choose the "Send to a Saved List" option.

  2. Select Your Saved List:

    • Choose a saved list that contains multiple columns of data (such as names, birthdays, etc.).

  3. Add Smart Tags:

    • After selecting your list, the column names from your list will appear as smart tags on the right side of the message box.
    • Click on the desired tag to add it to your message. You can personalize messages like:
      • “Hi [Name] [Surname], since your birthday is coming up on [Birthday], visit our store for a free gift!”

  4. Send the Campaign:

    • Once you’ve crafted your message, InteractSMS will automatically insert the relevant details from your list for each recipient when you send the campaign.

Step 2: Using Smart Tags with a New File

If you're starting fresh with a new customer list, follow these steps to use Smart Tags with an uploaded Excel file:

  1. Start a New Campaign:

    • Go to the campaign setup and choose the "Send to a New File" option.

  2. Upload an Excel File:

    • Upload an Excel file that contains more than one column of data. Column 1 should always contain the contact numbers, and the remaining columns can hold personalized data like names, birthdays, etc.

  3. Create Smart Tags:

    • Scroll down to the message box and click "Add Column" to create a smart tag. Give each tag a name that corresponds to the relevant column in your file (e.g., “Name” or “Birthday”).
    • Continue this process for all relevant columns.

  4. Craft Your Message:

    • Once your tags are set up, write your personalized message using the smart tags. For example:
      • “Hi [Name] [Surname], we noticed your birthday is on [Date of Birth]. Come in for a free gift!”

  5. Send the Campaign:

    • When your campaign is sent, InteractSMS will automatically populate the messages with each recipient's personalized information from your Excel file.
