Before starting, confirm that the person completing signup is an administrator of the Meta Business Account. Prepare the business display name, website and profile details, and keep a record of how customers opt in to receive WhatsApp messages.

Choose your number path
| Your situation | Recommended option | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| You want the quickest, cleanest launch | Phonovation-provided number | Pre-verified, no migration risk, fastest route to live. |
| You have a number never used on WhatsApp (new SIM, landline, spare line) | Connect a brand-new number | Verified by SMS or voice OTP during signup. |
| You use WhatsApp / the Business App and want to switch fully | Move your number to Phonovation | Permanent: the number will stop working in the app. Delete the existing WhatsApp account first. |
| You use the WhatsApp Business App and want to keep it | Coexistence | Use the app and Phonovation on the same number. Eligibility is decided by Meta during signup. |
| You already use the WhatsApp API with another provider | Migrate to Phonovation | Number and history are kept; expect a short offline period. Plan it with us. |
Register your sender
- In the Phonovation web interface go to Channels and Numbers › Channels › WhatsApp and select Register sender.
- Confirm you have a Meta Business Account and a valid number, then Continue.
- Choose Buy a new number or Connect a number you already have (your own, Phonovation-issued, from the WhatsApp Business App, or migrating from another provider).
- Log in with Facebook, select or create your Meta Business Account and WhatsApp Business Account.
- Enter the display name and verify the number (unless pre-verified).
- Finish the flow — your sender appears under WhatsApp senders and can start messaging.
After registration
| Step | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Business verification (Meta) | Unlocks higher messaging limits and protects against restrictions. Unverified businesses are capped and at higher risk of blocks. |
| Display name review | Meta checks your name matches your brand once you qualify for higher limits. |
| Business profile | Add logo, About text, description, website and email — this is what customers see. |
| Official Business Account (optional) | Request the verified badge for notable, trusted brands. |
What we need from you
- A Meta admin (often IT or marketing) available during signup
- Display name (max 25 characters) and profile photo
- Short business description and website
- Documents for Meta Business Verification (company registration, proof of address/domain)
- Your opt-in approach — where and how customers agreed to WhatsApp messages
Phonovation tipUse a landline or a spare business number if you want to keep your current mobile on the WhatsApp app — landlines can be verified by voice call.
